Crafting Vintage-Inspired Matchbooks: A DIY Guide

Custom matchbooks might be one of the coolest little details you can add to your home. They’re nostalgic, practical, and instantly make a space feel like a cozy cocktail bar.

In this video I design and make my own vintage-inspired matchbooks from scratch — starting with hand drawing the artwork, turning it into a digital design, getting them professionally printed, and finally assembling them at home. Now when friends come over for dinner they can grab a matchbook on their way out, just like at a restaurant or bar. This project pulls inspiration from Art Nouveau illustration and mid-century graphic design, and ended up being one of my favorite small DIY projects. If you enjoy creative projects, design-forward DIYs, and making your home feel a little more special, I think you’ll love this one.

Printing shoutout to  ⁨@JukeboxPrintLive⁩  in Vancouver who were incredibly kind and helpful getting these printed.
