Making Vintage Halloween Decor | Bold, Graphic & Spooky DIY

With Halloween around the corner, I wanted to make my own vintage-inspired Halloween décor, the kind you’d find tucked away in your grandma’s attic from the 1930s–50s. Bold colors, graphic lines, spooky but playful characters. In this video, I’m creating four DIY Halloween decorations from scratch: a mischievous black cat, a goofy skeleton, a pumpkin-witch, and a slightly offbeat zombie. I start by sketching each character, then bring them into Illustrator to refine the linework and separate the layers by color. After that, I project the designs onto poster board, trace, cut, and glue them together, recreating that nostalgic, hand-cut look of vintage die-cut Halloween art. This project is simple, affordable, and full of personality, perfect for anyone who loves retro Halloween, mid-century design, paper crafts, or just wants to bring a bit of cozy, spooky charm into their home this season.
